Med Surg RN Job in Petersburg, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Medical-Surgical unit at WVU Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, West Virginia. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning October 23, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• Three 12-hour night shifts per week, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Alternating weekends required—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday every other weekend
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirements
• No floating to other units
• Weekly pay: $2,208

Unit Environment

• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 to 1:9 depending on census
• Charge nurse present on all shifts; nights have one of three nurses assigned as charge
• House supervisor available
• Nurse aides support the unit
• Telemetry monitoring with SCU RN reading strips
• No drip titration required
• RT equipment: CPAP and BiPAP for patients with established home use
• MEDITECH charting system
• No specific scrub color required

Patient Population

Common diagnoses include COPD, CHF, total joint replacements, hysterectomies, and general post-operative care.

Orientation and Requirements

• Orientation: Day 1 for unit familiarization, followed by two 12-hour shifts
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; travel experience preferred
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• BSN not required
