PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking an RN for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a 13-week travel assignment offering 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, three days per week with guaranteed 36 hours weekly.

Role Overview:

• Work in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with fast-paced, high patient turnover
• Typical patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Float to all inpatient units as needed

Patient Population:

You will care for patients including post-op CABG/valve procedures, thoracotomy, vascular cases, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure catheterization, pacemaker, defibrillator, ablations, acute coronary syndrome/MI, and medicine/surgical overflow including detox, DKA, COPD exacerbation, respiratory failure, and femoral-popliteal bypass.

Compensation and Hours:

• Weekly pay: $2,682
• Contract eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours; unit typically experiences low census in 4-hour increments

Requirements:

• Wisconsin RN license, BLS, and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience (Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU)
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience
• At least one prior travel assignment
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience
• Ability to pass EKG test during first week of hire
• Experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitro drips
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
