Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with options for 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM or 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM
• Weekend and holiday rotation required
• Implement professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person, focusing on healing and wellness
• Perform and document comprehensive assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice and hospital policies and procedures
• Consider patient culture, age, and developmental level when designing care actions and interventions
• Identify patient risk factors and presenting complaints
• Collect objective and subjective patient data and obtain health information from family or others as necessary
• Develop prioritized problem lists based on input from the inter-professional team
• Determine desired patient outcomes in coordination with patient and family in accordance with the medical plan of care
• Implement patient care therapies and procedures within scope of practice
• Explain procedures, treatments, and processes to patients and families
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition appropriately
• Delegate tasks appropriately and oversee team members in performance of patient care activities
• Monitor accuracy and completeness of delegated patient care provided by other team members
• Identify and address educational needs of patients related to prioritized problems
• Facilitate patient discharge process by executing discharge orders in a timely manner and coordinating with Case Management
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, patient falls, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI monitoring
• Promote a positive group dynamic and healing environment through words and actions
• Apply evidence-based practice and current research to ensure nursing excellence
