Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour shifts with day shifts running 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM or night shifts running 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Day shift position with weekend requirement based on unit needs and demands
• Every other weekend requirement
• Holiday shifts required
• Float between all Med Surg, PCU, ED boarding, and temporary bed locations units
• Patient ratio of 5:1, with potential for 6:1 in the event of inpatient boarding
• Shorter assignment lengths of no less than 8 weeks available with a 48-hour weekly guarantee (does not apply to 13-week assignments)
• Cancellation policy: Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
• Charting system: Epic (Epic training provided)
• Nurses are responsible for reviewing telemetry strips
• Administer drips including Heparin, Cardizem, Insulin (excluding DKA protocol), and Narcotics (Comfort care)
• No ventilator management required
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, Cellulitis, ETOH Withdrawal, Kidney conditions, Dementia, and CVA
• Close patient observation provided through camera monitoring
• Charge nurse and nurse aides (typically 4-5 per shift) available on unit
• Cross-shift SWAT IV team available for assistance
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Hospitalist or Intensivist in-house
• Unit capacity: 32 beds
• Professional scrub colors, patterns, and styles required (no specific color requirement at this location)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• NIHSS certification preferred but not required
• Washington State RN license or Compact license required
• BSN not required
