Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available: Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM) or Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
• Night shift position with weekend requirement based on unit needs and demands
• Holiday shifts required
• 48-hour weekly guarantee available for shorter contracts (minimum 8 weeks); does not apply to 13-week assignments
• Float position between all Med Surg, PCU, ED boarding, and temporary bed locations (TBL) units
• Patient ratio is 5:1, with potential for 6:1 in the event of inpatient boarding
• 32-bed unit serving patients with diagnoses including CHF, COPD, cellulitis, ETOH withdrawal, kidney conditions, dementia, and CVA
• Nurses are responsible for reading and reviewing telemetry strips
• Drips include Heparin, Cardizem, Insulin (non-DKA protocol), and Narcotics (comfort)
• No ventilator management required
• Charge nurse and nurse aides (typically 4-5 per shift) available on unit
• Cross-shift SWAT IV team available for assistance
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Hospitalist or intensivist in-house
• Close patient observation provided through camera monitoring
• Charting system: Epic (training provided)
• Professional scrub colors, patterns, and styles required (no specific color restriction)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• NIHSS certification preferred but not required
• Washington state license or compact license required
• BSN not required
