PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

Banner Heart Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Mesa, Arizona. This is a travel nursing position with a contract duration of 89 days, beginning November 2, 2026.

Position Details

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards. Your responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating individualized nursing care for PCU patients. You will review patient histories, physical examinations, diagnostic results, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal findings to physicians and the care team.

You will formulate individualized plans of care that incorporate discharge planning, patient and family input, and assessment data. You will implement these plans through direct patient care, coordination of care activities, appropriate delegation, and supervision of the healthcare team. As needed, you will delegate tasks to and provide supervision of other licensed nurses and personnel.

Documentation is a key part of your role—you will accurately and timely record all assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in patient records. You will evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising the plan of care as needed.

You may be required to float between PCU units and may have on-call responsibilities. You will participate in unit and facility shared leadership initiatives and contribute to improvement of national nursing quality indicators. When appropriate, you will precept and mentor staff to support their professional growth.

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona
• Minimum one year experience in acute care hospital setting
• Acute care experience within the past 12 months
• BLS certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree
• Professional certification
