Med Surg RN Job in Medford, WI

Aspirus Medford Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for Medical-Surgical nursing. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning September 21, 2026.

Role Overview

You will work 3x12-hour night shifts with guaranteed 36 hours per week. The Med Surg unit is a 20-bed space within a 25-bed critical access hospital, typically maintaining a census of 8–10 patients. You will manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6–7 on nights.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on the Medical-Surgical unit
• Read and interpret telemetry strips
• Participate in every other weekend and every other holiday rotation
• Float occasionally to other departments for tasks such as vital checks (without assuming a patient load)
• May float to nearby facility locations as needed
• Be available for on-call placement during low census periods; call-back minimum is 2 hours

Requirements

• Current RN license (Wisconsin or compact)
• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• BLS certification (ARC or AHA)
• ACLS and PALS certifications
• Ability to read telemetry strips
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• ED or ICU experience is very helpful
• Epic charting experience preferred

Compensation and Schedule

Weekly pay is $2,602. Assignment duration is 91 days. Scrubs must be clean and work appropriate; any color or style is acceptable.

Facility Details

Aspirus Medford Hospital is a critical access facility. The ICU and Med Surg units share space, with 3 dedicated ICU beds within the 25-bed total.
