RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with weekends scheduled as needed
• Typically scheduled for 1 out of every 2 weekends
• No standby or call requirement
• Patient ratio of 1:6/7 - must be comfortable with ratios up to 1:7
• 30-bed unit with PCTs available on the unit
• Charge RN on the floor with assignment
• Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, cellulitis, R/O, cholecystitis, appendicitis, pneumonia, urosepsis, and AKI
• Required to titrate heparin drips based on APTT results
• Telemetry monitored remotely by monitor technicians
• Intermittent BIPAP equipment used on the unit (no ventilators)
• Charting system: EPIC
• Scheduling system: QGenda
• Travelers are first to float based on census needs
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Must be able to provide a copy of unexpired driver's license at time of submission
• Any licensing hits must be disclosed at time of submission
