Med Surg RN Job in Morgantown, WV

You will work as a Registered Nurse on a 20-bed Neuro Med Surg floor at WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. This is a 91-day travel assignment with 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM). Your weekly pay is $2,208.

Unit Details

• 20-bed unit with 14 floor beds serving neuroscience patients
• Patient ratio is 1:5–6 for floor patients
• Nurse aides available at a ratio of 1:7–10
• Charge nurse support available 24/7
• Telemetry present on the unit; you will document verification of monitor tech strip readings in EPIC but are not required to read strips independently

Patient Population

• Neuroscience diagnoses including deep brain stimulators, stroke, seizures, surgical and post-op spines, and neurological disorders
• G-tube proficiency and frequency required
• Common medications managed include Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Dopamine, Nipride, Ketamine, Lasix, Bumex, and Insulin; titration is per physician orders

Support and Resources

• Respiratory therapy available 24/7; floor ventilators are managed by RT and physician, so RN vent experience is not required
• One orientation shift provided on the unit

Requirements

• Strong overall neuro experience required
• Recent EPIC experience required for charting
• BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications must be in hand at submission; ACLS preferred
• BSN not required

Additional Expectations

• Weekend availability required: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
• Holiday rotation participation expected
• Floating may be required to units 7E, 7W, 7NE, or 10E as first priority, then to other hospital units as needed
• Scrub color requirement: any combination of white and royal blue
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
