Telemetry RN Job in Knoxville, TN

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. This is an acute care position serving adult and geriatric patients with complex medical needs.

Position Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts per week
• Patient ratios: 1:6–7 on nights
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling accommodated based on unit needs
• No on-call required
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 16, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,002

Requirements

• Active, unencumbered RN license (TN or multi-state) in hand at submission
• 2 years experience in comparable acuity hospital setting
• BLS and NIHSS certifications required
• Cerner EMR experience required
• Pass basic dysrhythmia interpretation and medication tests during 36-hour orientation
• Trauma Level I experience preferred

Role Scope

You will manage remote continuous telemetry monitoring and provide care across a range of clinical skills, including port access and management, BiPAP/CPAP support, blood product administration, central line and chest tube care, feeding tube management, heparin and IV insulin protocols, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, non-invasive airway support, pacemaker management, PCA pumps, PICC lines, pre and post cardiac catheterization care, hemodialysis management, renal failure support, seizure and substance withdrawal management, surgical drain care, tracheostomy care, traumatic brain injury care, and wound care with wound vac management. You may float to Med-Surg and ER hold as needed.

The unit provides interdisciplinary support through physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretaries. First-time travelers are accepted. Time off restrictions apply during entire holiday weeks; individual dates are negotiable based on staffing needs.
