Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical travel position. You'll work in a 40-bed Post Surgical Care Unit providing care for pre- and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced environment.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 3x12 night shifts (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Duration: 91 days
• Start date: November 2, 2026
• Weekly pay: $2,506

Unit Overview:

• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 to 1:7 on night shifts
• 10 to 15 admissions per day with 90 to 95% occupancy during the week
• Average patient length of stay: 2 to 3 days
• Float to all inpatient units as required

Requirements:

• Current WI RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years of Med Surg experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience
• Associate Degree or Certificate (Bachelor's Degree preferred)

Equipment and Systems:

• Epic EMR charting
• Rovers for medication scanning
• Alaris pumps

You'll work as part of a team managing acuity-based patient care in a high-volume setting. Multitasking and prioritization skills are essential. Scrubs may be any color.
