Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Day shift position
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Longer assignments available through 01/02/2027
• Every other weekend required
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed
• Patient ratio of 1:4 on days, nights, and weekends
• 17-bed unit with a daily census of 15 patients
• Receive patients from the Emergency Department, Medical ICU, clinics, outside hospitals, and nursing facilities
• Treat a wide range of medical diagnoses including diabetes, sickle cell crisis, COPD exacerbations, ESRD with pulmonary hypertension, wounds, drains, and tubes
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
• Must have Epic experience
• Must adhere to float policy and float within scope of practice as needed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Community hospital, LTAC, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• BSN preferred
• Required certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred but not required
• Virginia nursing license required; pending licenses accepted
• Key skills include telemetry interpretation, management of dysrhythmias, BiPAP/CPAP management, high flow nasal cannula, accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, PICC line management, wound care/wound vac, tracheostomy care, pre/post hemodialysis management, peritoneal dialysis, IV insulin protocols, and phlebotomy
• Special equipment includes overhead ceiling lifts and peritoneal dialysis equipment
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
