Telemetry RN Job in Rochester, NY

You will work as a Registered Nurse on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester, NY. This is a 13-week travel contract offering night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on a 3x12 schedule, with an every-other-weekend requirement.

Compensation & Schedule

• Weekly pay: $2,218
• Shift: 3x12 nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Every other holiday coverage as needed
• Patient ratios: 1:5 to 1:7
• Maximum 10 days of requested time off permitted

Requirements

• Active New York Single State RN license (required at submission; NY is non-Compact)
• Minimum 1 year acute care nursing experience
• Acute care work within the past 6 months
• BLS and current NIHSS certifications (NIHSS must be submitted with application)
• EPIC charting experience (hard requirement)
• Candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible

Clinical Skills & Responsibilities

• Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Rapid Response and Code team activation
• IV therapy and phlebotomy
• Peripheral line care and management
• Nasal cannula and oxygen administration
• Non-invasive airway management
• Isolation precautions and PPE use
• Blood product administration
• Heparin protocol management
• Floating between units within med/surg skillset

First-time travelers are welcome. Scrubs must be navy blue and white in any combination. Unit assignment will be confirmed at time of offer. Time off requests must be submitted with your application.
