Job Details:

• Night shift position with 36 or 48-hour weekly schedules available
• Every other weekend requirement - 2 weekends of a 4-week posted schedule
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Level III Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center experience
• First time travelers accepted
• Must reside more than 50 miles from facility
• EPIC charting system experience is a hard requirement
• Pyxis medication system and SBAR communication used on unit
• 24 hours of unit orientation provided
• Candidates will float as required
• NY nursing license required prior to submission
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI, TCAR
• Required skills include: General Emergency Department (Combined Adult/Pedi), Non-Trauma Emergency Department, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, blood product administration, central line care and management, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, CVA, neuro-trauma, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, ortho-trauma, abdominal pain, asthma, burns, epiglottitis, head injury, hyperglycemia, identifying and reporting abuse, infections, mental and behavioral health conditions, respiratory infections, seizures, urinary tract infections, ventilated patients, gunshot wounds, and traumatic amputation
• Interdisciplinary support available including respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Patient age groups served: neonates, infants, adolescents, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
