Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week Medical-Surgical contract assignment. You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM on a 3x12 schedule with guaranteed 48 hours per week and overtime available after 48 hours worked.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care across inpatient medical-surgical units with typical patient ratios of 1:6-7 on nights
• Float to all inpatient units as needed
• Care for adult patients with conditions including respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal
• Utilize EPIC charting system
• Work every other weekend and every other holiday rotation

Requirements:

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• Associate Degree or Certificate required; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• EPIC charting experience required

Additional Details:

This contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable time available in hour increments, typically in 4-hour blocks as needed. You will work independently and collaboratively with team members and ancillary staff to complete patient care tasks in a timely manner. Ability to manage change well and adapt to shifting priorities throughout your shift is essential. Any color scrubs are acceptable.

Compensation: $2,602 weekly.

Assignment Duration: 91 days, with a start date of September 21, 2026.
