ED RN Job in Asheville, NC

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting September 7, 2026, working three 12-hour night shifts per week (6:45 PM–7:15 AM). Weekly pay is $1,898.

Role Overview

You will work in a 101-bed Emergency Department with typical patient ratios of 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds. Techs are available in the cardiac monitoring unit, internal processing area, and triage; unit clerks support both day and night shifts. You will use Baxter pumps, GE monitors, and the Cerner electronic health record system for documentation.

Schedule & Expectations

Every other weekend availability is required, and scheduling must remain flexible to meet departmental needs—block scheduling is not an option. You will not float outside the ED but must be willing to float across all sections within it. Navy scrubs are the required uniform.

Patient Care Standards

You will follow AIDET patient experience standards, maintain respectful interactions, and keep patient boards current throughout each visit. Teamwork is essential; you must be able to coach and provide real-time feedback to colleagues and demonstrate flexibility across all ED areas.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications on hire
• ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits)
• Previous HCA healthcare system experience
