ICU RN Job in Redding, CA

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Registered Nurse for its 30-bed ICU/Trauma ICU. You will work 12-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM on a 3x12 schedule with every other weekend requirement. There is no on-call or standby expectation for travelers.

Scope of Practice

• Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1–2, with approximately 90% of shifts at a 1:2 ratio
• Titrate drips including vasopressors and sedation
• Interpret telemetry strips independently; unit secretary will run strips
• Demonstrate experience with ICP monitoring and ventriculostomies, or experience with post-TPA patients
• Provide care for patients with common diagnoses including trauma, neuro-strokes, head injuries, and ventriculostomies

Requirements and Qualifications

• 2–3 years of ICU specialty experience; previous travel experience preferred
• Valid California RN license
• Current ACLS and BLS certification
• NIHSS certification required
• PALS preferred; required if assignment extends beyond 6 months
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and willingness to ask for help when needed
• Ability to work collaboratively with the team
• Prepared to float to PCU, CICU, telemetry, or med-surgical units as needed

Onboarding

• You will complete a proctored Dysrhythmia Test on-site on day one—pass/fail
• Orientation consists of 1 day on the unit, with additional time provided if needed
• Charting system: Cerner
• Scrub color: Navy

This position is a 91-day contract starting November 17, 2026, with weekly pay of $2,134. BSN is not required.
