PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Acute Care Surgery Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Must work a minimum of 2 holidays per contract
• May be asked to float within scope if overstaffed
• Minimum 1 year of experience required; 2 years preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• BSN preferred
• Previous charge experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Required skills: Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, starting and maintaining IVs, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Care for adult patients with diagnoses including bariatric surgery, colo-rectal surgery, plastic surgery, urology surgery, and surgical oncology
• Perform and manage specific procedures including continuous bladder irrigation (CBI), flaps, microsurgery, HIPEC patients, Whipple, bariatric surgery, and leech therapy
• Utilize special equipment including negative pressure and warm rooms
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
• VA or compact state license must be in hand at time of submittal
• Natural nail policy in effect
• Self-scheduling unit
• 36-hour orientation
