Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work in a 24-bed Intermediate Care Unit serving intermediate medical patients and surgery overflow including TURPS, lap chol, lap appy, lap hernia, eye surgery, oral surgery, diabetic teaching, and wound care
• Fast-paced unit supporting throughput from both the ED and OR
• Patient ratio of 1:5, with rare occasions where ratio may flex to 1:6
• Patients include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• 8 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule period, combination of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Holiday shifts and Charge RN assignments as needed per unit
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• No on-call required
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13 weeks (cancelled shifts must be the regular shift length assigned)
• Minimum 2 years of experience required with Telemetry experience required
• Travel experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from facility
• Block scheduling is not available
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO permitted
• Required certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Charting system: Epic
• Scrub color: Navy
• Parking: Free
• Required skills include: Cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias, management of dysrhythmias, telemetry on-unit monitoring, use of Rapid Response Teams, IV insulin protocols, feeding tube care and management, continuous bladder irrigation, accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care and management, peripheral line care and management, PICC line management, starting IVs, heparin protocols, PCA, CVA management, nasal cannula, oxygen face masks, portable oxygen tank, isolation precautions, and wound care/wound vac
• Preferred skills include: Titration of insulin drips, renal failure management, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, surgical drains, tracheostomy management, and eye surgery experience
