Med Surg RN Job in Anniston, AL

Baptist Health Calhoun Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Medical Surgical unit in Anniston, Alabama. This is a night shift position on a 3x12 schedule with an every-other-weekend requirement. A 4x12 shift option is available if you prefer that arrangement.

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to an adult and geriatric population with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6
• Float to like units as needed
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
• Administer medications including heparin, insulin, and blood products
• Manage wound care, wound vacs, and surgical drains
• Perform IV starts, peripheral line care, and PICC line management
• Provide feeding tube and ostomy care
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula and manage PCAs
• Document patient care in the Paragon charting system
• Maintain isolation precautions as required

Required Qualifications

• Active Alabama nursing license
• Current BLS certification via AHA
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
• Fit test completion required

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous charge nurse experience
• Level II Trauma center experience
• Travel nursing experience
• NIHSS certification

Assignment Details

This is a 91-day travel assignment starting November 2, 2026. You will receive $1,944 weekly. A 30-minute meal break is required each shift—no skipped meals.
