Telemetry RN Job in Wilmington, NC

Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day assignment on the Med/Surg Telemetry unit in Wilmington, NC. This position offers 3×12-hour night shifts at $1,920.67 weekly.

Role Overview

You will care for adults and geriatric patients on a telemetry unit, managing patient ratios of 1:5–6. Your responsibilities include cardiac monitoring with remote telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, feeding tube and colostomy care, hemodialysis pre/post management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, PICC and central line management, chest tube care, non-invasive airway support (CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula), and wound care. You will use the rapid response team as needed and work collaboratively with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and physical therapy.

Requirements

• Current RN license and BLS/BCLS certification
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Ability to float within and near the facility as needed

Assignment Details

• Start date: September 21, 2026
• Duration: 91 days
• Shift: 3×12-hour nights
• Orientation: 24-hour unit orientation plus hospital orientation during week one
• Weekend commitment: 12–16 shifts per contract
• Maximum 7 days requested time off; no RTO during first week
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Contract staff assigned to Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team with possible deployment during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations
• Mid-contract consolidation to centralized office may occur

Preferred Skills

On-unit telemetry monitoring, port access, CVA care, surgical drain management, ABG interpretation, tracheostomy management, and Epic experience.

Unit systems: Pyxis, Epic, SBAR communication. Scrubs: Navy and White. Common patient diagnoses include dementia, diabetes, COVID-19, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, encephalopathy, GI bleed, anemia, and hip fracture.
