Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Universal Care RN position with rotating every other Saturday required - no Sunday shifts
• Patient ratio of 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Daily census ranges from 8 to 20 patients
• Provide care for Med Surg/Tele observation or admission hold patients in overflow area, including cardiac, GI, respiratory, and fall patients requiring repeat CT while on blood thinners
• UCU provides patient care for patients who do not require admission but still need care for several hours or overnight
• Write initial nursing histories, assess patient conditions, and develop individualized care plans
• Coordinate and direct delivery of patient care for a group of patients, assigning tasks to support personnel
• Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes, and consult with other disciplines as needed
• Perform blood product administration, cardiac telemetry monitoring, central line care and management, and PICC line management
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips without titration; perform titration of insulin drips
• Perform phlebotomy, IV insertion and maintenance, PCA management, and wound care including wound vac
• Monitor and interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac telemetry on the unit
• Administer procedural sedation and monitor patients accordingly
• Support patients experiencing CVA, renal failure, and other complex diagnoses
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed
• Function as relief Charge Nurse as assigned
• May be required to float to units within Emergency Services Division
• Charting system: Epic (required)
• Minimum 3 years of experience required
• Travel experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• BSN required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI), valid CA RN license
