PCU RN Job in Glendale, Arizona

Banner Thunderbird Medical Center in Glendale, Arizona is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). This is a full-time travel position on a 3x12 night shift schedule, running for 89 days with a start date of December 14, 2026. Weekly pay is $2,582.10.

In this role, you will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. Your responsibilities include:

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care according to organizational policies and professional standards
• Reviewing patient histories, physicals, diagnostics, and laboratory data; reporting abnormal results to physicians and care team members
• Developing and maintaining individualized plans of care, including discharge planning based on assessment data and input from patients, families, and the health team
• Implementing care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities
• Delegating appropriately and providing nursing supervision to licensed nurses and other personnel
• Evaluating patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as needed
• Documenting assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in patient records in a timely and legible manner
• Participating in unit and facility shared leadership, education, and orientation activities
• Contributing to improvements in national nursing quality indicators and patient outcomes

Requirements: Current, valid RN license in Arizona; BLS certification; minimum one year of acute care hospital experience with experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the PCU specialty area. Bachelor's degree and professional certification are preferred.

You must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently. Lifting up to 75 pounds may be required. You will use standard precautions due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids. Weekend and holiday rotation is required, with possible float to support additional units.
