ED Emergency Room RN Job in Salem, VA

Lewisgale Medical Center VA is seeking an experienced RN for its 27-bed Emergency Department on the night shift. You will work 3x12 nights (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with patient ratios of 4–6:1, alongside a charge nurse, 4–5 additional RNs, and 2–3 paramedics per shift.

Core Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity, high-volume emergency setting
• Perform advanced ER procedures: RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tPA administration, and central line placement
• Provide care for psychiatric patients and manage transfers per EMTALA protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment
• Work four weekend shifts (Friday or Saturday nights) per four-week schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2–3 years Emergency Room experience
• Completion of 2–3 prior travel assignments
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC
• Preferred certifications: ENPC, NRP, NIH
