Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• Night shift position with rotating schedule between 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend requirement - Nights: Friday and Saturday; Days: Saturday and Sunday
• Holiday rotation with permanent staff
• No on-call or standby requirement
• 28-bed oncology and general med surg combination unit with full telemetry
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Oncology experience is required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips - dysrhythmia exam required during onboarding
• Experience with central lines and port access, including accessing and changing sterile dressings preferred
• Titration of drips required including Heparin and Cardizem, as well as other cardiac drips
• Responsible for nebulizer treatments, breathing treatments, and suctioning trachs - RT will manage CPAP and BiPap
• Charge nurse present on each shift and typically does not take patients
• CNAs available on unit - 8-hour shifts with one CNA per pod and two CNAs for 28 beds on night shifts
• Floating required within Med Surg/Tele service line in rotation with permanent staff, and may be required to float throughout Region Two facilities in the area
• Charting system: EPIC - option to test out of Epic class during orientation
• Orientation consists of Epic class plus 1-2 days with a preceptor (maximum 2 days)
• Professional scrubs required - no t-shirts, closed-toe shoes required
• BLS certification required; Chemo certification through ONS provider card preferred
• BSN not required
• Hospital may cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment or 3 shifts for assignments less than 13 weeks
