ED RN Job in Kansas City, MO

Research Medical Center is seeking an RN for a 91-day seasonal travel assignment in the Emergency Department in Kansas City, MO. This is a night-shift position working 4x12 hours (7 PM–7 AM) with 48 guaranteed hours per week at $2,370 weekly pay.

Role Overview

You will work in a 38-bed Emergency Department divided into three main areas: Rapid, Main, and POD 3 (a psych-safe area). The department operates with 7 RNs per day and night shift, plus 5 mid-shift RNs. You may float to Brookside ED as needed to support patient flow.

Scheduling & Requirements

• 4x12 night shifts (7 PM–7 AM)
• 4 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays minimum per 4-week schedule
• 2 major and 2 minor holidays required
• 48 guaranteed hours weekly

Clinical Responsibilities

You will manage acute and emergency patients using a range of equipment and technologies, including ventilators, BiPAP, EKG monitoring, arterial lines, Belmont infusion systems, and chest tubes. Procedures you may perform include port placement and chest tube management. The department uses Meditech EMR for documentation.

You demonstrate strong prioritization and time management skills, are skilled in de-escalation, and maintain a patient-focused, detail-oriented approach. You work well in a team environment, remain coachable, and sustain a positive attitude under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute) certification preferred
• Navy blue scrubs required per dress code
