RN - Med Surg

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on days (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) or nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every-other-weekend requirement including Saturday and Sunday for both day and night shifts
• Work in the holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff
• Patient ratios are mainly 1:5-6 for both days and nights, with occasional 7 patients toward end of shift depending on patient acuity
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Floor-specific orientation: 1-2 shifts with a preceptor
• Common diagnoses and patient types include CHF, cardiac cath, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology patients
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips using Phillips monitors
• Responsible for aerosols for non-vented patients as well as EKGs
• Respiratory therapy is available in-house 24/7 and manages CPAP and BiPAP
• IV team available house-wide until 10:00 PM Monday through Friday and until 3:30 PM on weekends
• In-house pharmacy available 24/7 using Accudose
• Charting system: EPIC
• Required certification: BLS
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• No false nails permitted
• Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver's license with application
• 50-mile radius rule applies
