ED RN Job in Corpus Christi, TX

Join Bay Area Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department for a 13-week travel assignment. You will work a 3x12 day shift schedule (7am–7pm) beginning September 28, 2026, earning $1,661 weekly.

About the Role

You will provide direct patient care in a 16-bed emergency department with 8 hall chairs. Your responsibilities include patient assessments, documentation, medication administration, wound care, splinting, IV insertion, lab draws, urine collection, and care for patients across all ESI acuity levels (ESI 1–5). You will work with cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, tonopen, and other emergency equipment, using the Meditech EMR system with automated vital sign integration.

Staffing and Ratios

During day shifts, you will work alongside 1 charge nurse, 1 triage nurse, 4–5 floor nurses (including one mid-shift), 1 unit secretary, and 1–2 techs. Patient ratios are 1:4 for low-acuity ESI 4 & 5 patients, with flexibility to take up to 6 patients as needed. Mandatory shift huddles occur at 7am and 7pm unless you are providing critical care.

Requirements

• Level II or Level III trauma experience required
• Greater than two years of emergency department experience preferred
• Required certifications: TNCC, ENPC or PALS, ACLS, and BLS
• EMTALA training required

Preferred Qualifications

• CEN or TCRN certification
• CPI certification
