Med-Surg RN Job in Overland Park, Kansas

Join Overland Park Regional Medical Center as a registered nurse on a 24-bed Med-Surg unit located on the 4th floor of Tower B. This is a 12-week travel position working three 12-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM to 7:00 PM).

Unit Details

• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Day shift team includes 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), 2 patient care technicians, and 1 unit clerk
• Night shift team includes 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), and 2 patient care technicians
• Four weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) required within each 4-week period

Clinical Responsibilities

• Peripheral IV insertion, management, and removal
• Central line management and removal
• Foley insertion, management, and removal
• Nasogastric tube insertion, management, and removal
• Drain and wound care management
• Ostomy management
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• Chest tube management
• 12-lead EKG placement

Equipment and Systems

• Alaris IV infusion pumps
• Hoyer and Sarah Steady patient lifts
• Feeding pumps
• Welch Allyn Vital Sign Machines
• iMobile and Vein Finder technology
• Meditech electronic medical records system

Requirements

• Prior inpatient acute care experience
• Basic dysrhythmias knowledge
• Current BLS certification
• NIHSS and basic dysrhythmias competencies
• Experience at a trauma center preferred

Work Environment

Dress code requires royal blue scrubs with black pants permitted. You will be part of an interdisciplinary team providing acute medical-surgical care in a structured inpatient environment.

Assignment Details

This assignment begins November 2, 2026, and runs for 84 days (12 weeks). Weekly pay is $1,916.
