PCU Registered Nurse Job in Saint Louis, MO

Barnes-Jewish Hospital Nursing is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 91-day travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work three 12-hour night shifts per week on a dual PCU/Stepdown unit, with every other weekend required.

Role Details

• Patient ratios of 2–3 on the PCU side and 4–5 on the floor side
• Float within service line as needed to meet facility demands
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• 36 orientation hours provided

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (first-time travelers accepted)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and cardiac telemetry management
• Ability to manage and titrate cardiac drips
• Comfort with chest tube care
• Experience with EPIC charting system

Patient Population & Special Equipment

You will care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including lung transplant, lung surgeries, lobectomy, mass removal, wedge resection, bronchial sleeve, esophagectomy, and hiatal hernia repair. The unit uses telemetry, epidural/PCU pumps, IV drips, chest tubes, G/J tubes, and tube feeding systems.

Support Services

Interdisciplinary teams including IV services, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response, pharmacy, and transportation are available to support your patient care.
