ED RN Job in Austin, TX

Join South Austin Hospital as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department for a 13-week contract assignment. You'll work day shifts from 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM on a 3x12 rotating schedule with no on-call requirements.

About the Role

You'll provide direct patient care in a 48-bed private room unit with 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health beds. Your responsibilities include:

• Managing patient ratios of 1:4 in the ED, 1:5 in behavioral health, and 1:3 in cardiac/trauma areas
• Performing splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central line management, and airway support
• De-escalating behavioral health situations and providing resuscitation care
• Operating Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
• Using Morgan lens and rapid infuser equipment
• Documenting in the MEDITECH EMR system

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications

Preferred Qualifications

• MEDITECH experience
• Trauma experience
• Inpatient holding experience
• CPI certification

Compensation and Details

Weekly pay: $2,011. Navy blue scrubs are required. This 91-day assignment begins October 5, 2026.
