Med Surg RN Job in Appleton, WI

ThedaCare - Appleton is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 17-week travel contract in Medical-Surgical nursing. You will work 3x12-hour night shifts (5:30 PM start) with 36 guaranteed hours per week and earn $2,404 weekly.

Schedule and Assignment

• Night shift position with up to every weekend required
• Holiday rotation as required
• No on-call or callback duties
• 2-week schedule increments; location may change up to 2 hours in advance based on staffing needs
• Float throughout Med/Surg units at Appleton and Neenah locations, with potential assignment to smaller ThedaCare facilities
• Missed shifts must be made up within 2 weeks

Clinical Scope

You will care for patients across Medical/Surgical, General Surgical, Oncology, Renal, CIWA, CHF, COPD, Stroke, Surgical Trauma, Ortho, and DKA cases. Patient ratio is 1:5–6 RN with paired support staff (LPN/CNA) based on acuity. Specialty unit exposure includes cardiac (pre/post cath, pacemakers) and neuro (stroke, post-TNK, neuro surgery). Experience with pre/post cath, post-pacemaker, and TR Bands is strongly preferred. Occasional pediatric patients may occur.

Requirements

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• AHA BLS certification (AHA ACLS preferred)
• NIHSS certification
• EPIC charting experience within the past year
• Minimum 3+ years RN experience and 2+ years Med/Surg experience
• At least 1 prior travel contract strongly preferred
• Previous travel experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate minimum; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Black scrubs required

Eligibility

Candidates whose home location is within 50 miles of ThedaCare Corporate Center in Neenah, WI are not eligible. You must be comfortable floating between units and multiple facilities as part of the Clinical Resource Team and be able to manage change effectively.
