PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

Registered Nurse - PCU

Job Details:

• Work 3x12-hour night shifts from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling block
• Must work at least 1 holiday per 13-week contract
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2-week period
• Patient ratio of 1:5 serving adult and geriatric patients
• Unit census of 20 beds with one bed dedicated to chronic vent patients
• Specializes in care of Hospitalist Medicine patients with renal and other medical diagnoses
• Functions as an alternative unit for gastrointestinal, pulmonary, and other surgical or procedural patients covered by hospitalists
• Floating within skillset required
• Epic charting experience required
• Perform cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and management of cardiac drips without titration
• Provide IV therapy and phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central and peripheral line care and management
• Provide respiratory support via nasal cannula and oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway management
• Utilize rapid response and code teams and maintain isolation precautions
• Experience in PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown settings required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Active Virginia State or Compact RN license required
