Med Surg RN Job in Alexandria, LA

CHRISTUS St Frances Cabrini Hospital is seeking an RN for a Medical/Surgical unit position on the night shift. This is a 91-day travel assignment starting October 5, 2026.

Position Details

• Shift: 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 3 days per week (12-hour shifts)
• Weekly pay: $2,300
• Schedule guarantees: 36 or 48 hours per week available
• Overtime billable after 48 hours
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 or 6:1
• Willingness to float to other units required

Your Responsibilities

You will practice independently and demonstrate awareness of all relevant aspects of patient situations. You will provide routine and complex care with the ability to focus on long-range goals and plans. Your day-to-day work includes:

• Delivering nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Addressing complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Administering medications and treatments using appropriate protocols and monitoring for side effects and effectiveness
• Documenting patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given in Epic EMR
• Assessing learning needs and providing education to patients, family members, and caregivers

Requirements

• RN License in Louisiana or compact state required
• BLS certification via AHA required
• Minimum 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred

Unit Information

This is a basic Med Surg unit with a temp-to-perm possibility. Dress code is ceil blue scrubs.
