Opportunity:

RN - Med Surg Tele

Job Details:

• 12-hour shifts available on days and nights
• Day and weekend patient ratio of 1:5-6; night patient ratio of 1:6
• Every other weekend required, or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule minimum (Saturday/Sunday); plus holiday rotation obligation
• No on-call required
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, IV start, and Telemetry proficiency
• Preferred certification: NIHSS
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Charting system: EPIC
• Free parking available
• Will float to all medical units including renal, oncology, neuro, surgical, and cardiology units
• Float pool workers are asked to call in to a recorded line up to 1 hour before scheduled shift start time to receive unit assignment
• Guaranteed hours: 3 shifts per 13-week contract; cancelled shifts must be regular shift length
• Special equipment required: lift devices (training provided), ceiling lifts, and bladder scanner
• Patient age groups: adults and geriatrics
• Daily census ranges from 28 to 50 depending on specific unit
• Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and unit secretary
• Required skills include central line care/management, interpretation of dysrhythmias and ABGs, telemetry and remote monitoring, peripheral line care, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, wound care/wound vac, and use of rapid response/code teams
