Job Details:

• Neuro ICU position with an ASAP start preferred
• 13-week assignment with the option to extend up to 26 weeks by request
• 3x12 day shifts, 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM; 4x12 schedule available by request
• Weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 2:1 for days, nights, and weekends
• Up to two pre-approved days off permitted
• 48 orientation hours provided
• Adult patient population
• 12-bed unit
• Epic charting system experience required
• Large Level I/Level II facility experience required
• Prior neuro experience required
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Patient diagnoses include stroke, neurosurgery, neuro-specific diagnoses and complications, and complex spine
• Special procedures include external ventricular drains (EVDs) and therapeutic thermoregulation
• Required skills include arterial line management, care of ventilated patients, central line care and management, CVA/acute stroke management, ICP monitoring, hypothermia protocol/Arctic Sun, post craniotomy and post neurosurgery management, titration of vasoactive and cardiac drips, ventilator management, and additional advanced neuro ICU competencies
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, rapid response teams, and more
