PCU RN Job in Dallas, TX

You'll work as an RN in a 24-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on floor 3S within the Heart Building at Medical City Heart and Spine. This is a night shift role, 3x12 hours (6:45 PM–7:15 AM), with a patient ratio of 1:3.

What you'll do:

• Provide direct patient care for post-cardiac and post-vascular surgery patients, including those recovering from CABG, AVR/MVR, aortic root repair, LVAD placement, and VATS procedures with chest tubes
• Manage patients pre- and post-cath lab and EP procedures, including pacemaker/AICD insertions, heart catheterizations, PCIs, and TAVR
• Administer and monitor cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Nitroglycerin, Cardene, and Cardizem
• Assist with bedside procedures including paracentesis, thoracentesis, and PICC insertion
• Use Baxter IV pumps, Hillrom beds, iMobile with Apple devices, and telemetry monitoring
• Document in Meditech EMR system
• Float to Med-Surg/Telemetry and Ortho units as needed

Schedule and staffing:

Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse and 8 RNs. You'll work 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. No phlebotomy responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Current RN license
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• Knowledge of cardiac drips and post-operative cardiac care
• Ability to demonstrate accountability for your actions
• Minimum 6 months PCU experience preferred
• Strong communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary teams preferred

Other details:

Dress code is royal blue scrubs. This is a 91-day travel assignment beginning August 18, 2026. Weekly pay is $1,661.
