PCU RN Job in Mesa, Arizona

You will care for patients in our Progressive Care Unit at Banner Desert Medical Center, located at 1400 S Dobson Rd in Mesa, Arizona. This is a full-time travel nursing position with an 89-day contract starting October 12, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week
• $2,582.10 per week
• Varied schedule including weekends, holidays, and float assignments per department guidelines

Your Responsibilities

• Assess patients and document nursing care according to organizational policies and professional nursing standards
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments addressing physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs
• Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data, reporting abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members
• Delegate and supervise activities of licensed nurses and other healthcare personnel as appropriate
• Evaluate patient and family responses to care and teaching, revising plans as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation accurately and timely in patient records
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and contribute to national nursing quality indicator improvement
• Precept and mentor staff, students, and other personnel as appropriate

Required Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in Arizona or compact RN licensure
• BLS certification
• Minimum one year experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Experience in the specialty area within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, squat, reach, and stretch frequently
• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
• Standard precautions awareness due to potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing
• Professional certification
