Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

You'll work as a Registered Nurse in the Post Surgical Care Unit at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, providing care for pre- and post-surgical adult and geriatric patients across a 40-bed inpatient area.

Schedule and Hours

• 3x12 day shifts: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• 36 hours of low census unbillable time available in hour increments as needed

Role Responsibilities

• Manage patient care with ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 during day/PM shifts
• Work in a fast-paced environment averaging 10–15 admissions per day
• Unit runs at 90–95% occupancy with average length of stay of 2–3 days
• Float to other inpatient units as needed
• Prioritize patient care needs based on acuity and work collaboratively with your team

Requirements

• Wisconsin RN License and BLS (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2+ years Med Surg experience with recent hospital experience
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate minimum; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Equipment and Environment

• Epic EMR, Rovers for medication scanning, and Alaris pumps
• Any color scrubs permitted
