Job Details:

• Varied work schedule with weekend and holiday rotation required
• Possible float to support other units
• Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing practice standards
• Review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure completion within appropriate timeframes
• Review diagnostics and laboratory data and report abnormal results to physicians and appropriate caregivers
• Formulate and implement individualized plans of care including discharge planning based on patient-specific needs and multidisciplinary team input
• Provide direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of health care team activities
• Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching, revising plan of care as needed
• Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a legible and timely manner
• Participate in unit or facility shared leadership and contribute to the education, role development, and orientation of patients, families, and staff
• Precept and mentor others to promote professional growth when appropriate
• Actively participate in the improvement of national nursing quality indicators and outcomes
• Minimum of one year experience in an acute care hospital setting required, with experience in an acute care setting within the past 12 months as a Registered Nurse in the specialty area
• Must possess a current, valid RN license in state of practice
• BLS certification required
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Professional certification preferred
