ICU - Intensive Care Unit

RN - OR ICU/SICU

Job Details:

• 13-week assignment with 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 48-hour approved contract
• Flexible scheduling posted out a month in advance
• Weekend and call requirements to be discussed during the interview
• Unit staffing assignments determined according to acuity and skills
• Floating policy applies as needed
• Work in a 16-bed SICU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Care for surgical population with emphasis on oncology patients
• Perform and assist with ICU procedures including central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations
• Operate ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, and GE Cardiac Output monitor
• Document using Meditech system
• Experience with CRRT and hypothermia protocol preferred
• Meditech experience preferred
• Minimum 2 years ICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS
• CCRN certification preferred
• Active RN Texas license required - temporary licenses will not be accepted
• Scrub color: Royal Blue
• No artificial nails, gel, or next gen nails permitted - nails must be clean and healthy
• Hair must be neat, clean, and pulled back if shoulder length or longer
• Body art should be covered whenever possible
• Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited, including nose rings and tongue rings
