Respiratory Therapist - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Job Details:

• Night shift position with 36 or 48 hours available per week
• 13-week or 26-week contract options with November start dates
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Must work 2 out of 3 winter holidays
• Self-scheduling model - manager will explain during call; desired schedule not guaranteed but will be accommodated as best as possible
• Work within the children's hospital across all units including NICU, PICU, high-risk deliveries, and acute care pediatrics
• Must have Level 4 NICU experience
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Minimum 1 year of experience required
• Must be competent in caring for neonates, infants, adolescents, and pediatric patient populations
• Must be competent in the use of the Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
• Must be comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team requiring strong communication and critical thinking skills
• Epic experience required
• Required certifications: RRT, BLS, NRP
• PALS and ACCS preferred
• Virginia state license required; pending license accepted provided a temp license can be obtained before start date and another state license is held
• Key skills include: NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, High Frequency Jet Ventilator, High Frequency Oscillator, Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), Nitric Oxide (INo), Tracheostomy Care/Management, Interpretation of Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs), Intubation Assist, Neonatal Transports, Oscillating Ventilator, and Oral/Nasal Suctioning
