ICU RN Job in Des Moines, IA

MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is seeking an RN for its Intensive Care Unit. This is a 90-day travel assignment starting November 16, 2026, offering you the opportunity to provide direct patient care in a dynamic critical care setting.

Position Details:

• Specialty: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule: Every other weekend and every other holiday
• Duration: 90 days
• Weekly Pay: $2,355

As an ICU RN, you will monitor and assess critically ill patients, respond to acute changes in condition, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. You will work in a fast-paced environment where clinical judgment and communication skills are essential. Night shift hours allow you to develop expertise in managing patient care during evening and early morning hours when staffing ratios and acuity demand experienced nurses.

Your responsibilities include continuous patient monitoring, documentation, medication administration, wound care, airway management, and family communication. You will participate in rounds, contribute to care planning, and support the overall mission of providing compassionate critical care.

What We're Looking For:

• Current RN licensure
• ICU experience preferred
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts and rotate weekends and holidays
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills
• Professional communication and teamwork
