Operating Room RN Job in Alamogordo, NM

CHRISTUS Southern New Mexico is seeking an RN for the Operating Room in Alamogordo, NM. This is a full-time travel position lasting 91 days, beginning July 27, 2026.

Schedule and Compensation

• 4 days per week, 10 hours per day
• $2,376 weekly pay

Role Responsibilities

You will provide direct patient care across a variety of surgical procedures, including orthopedic, general, podiatry, GYN/OB with C-sections, pain management, urology, and endoscopy cases. Your duties include:

• Apply and document the nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Demonstrate proficiency and independence in caring for surgical patients and their families
• Consult with staff, physicians, and management on nursing problems and policy interpretation to ensure patient needs are met
• Practice the five rights of medication administration
• Manage time efficiently to maximize productivity
• Act as a patient advocate, include families in care, and maintain confidentiality
• Participate in hospital and department quality activities as required

Required Qualifications

• Current New Mexico RN license or valid compact license
• BLS (AHA only)
• ACLS (AHA only)
• PALS (AHA only)
• CPI certification
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of experience in operating room nursing
