PCU - Progressive Care Unit

Opportunity:

RN - Stepdown

Job Details:

• Work on a dual unit serving both PCU/Stepdown and floor side
• PCU patient ratios are 2-3 patients per nurse; floor side ratios are typically 4, and can be up to 5 at times
• All nurses are expected to work on either side of the dual unit
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Will float within service line to meet facility needs
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS
• Scrub color: Navy Blue
• Charting system: EPIC
• Must be able to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac telemetry
• Must be able to manage and titrate cardiac drips
• Experience with chest tubes (Emerson/PleurEvac) required
• Experience with epidural/PCA, IV drips, G/J tubes, and tube feeding required
• Patient population includes adults and geriatrics
• Patient diagnoses include lung transplant, lung surgeries, lobectomy, mass removal, wedge resection, bronchial sleeve, esophagectomy, and hiatal hernia repair
• Interdisciplinary support available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation
• Guaranteed hours provided
• Maximum of 7 days of RTO per 13-week contract
• Home address must be at least 75 miles from the facility
