Opportunity:

RN - Cardiac Tele

Job Details:

• Day shift position from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Weekly guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 hours must be indicated on submission
• 13-week assignment
• Every other weekend required
• No call requirements
• Patient ratio varies: 1:4 to 1:5 on days
• Float to similar or lower acuity unit as needed
• 1 year of telemetry or cardiac telemetry experience required (inpatient only)
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS from AHA only
• Current RN license required, eligible for or currently licensed in Missouri
• Must be proficient in reading telemetry and working with CHF, chest pain, renal, and hemodialysis patients
• Experience with Amiodarone and Cardizem drips required
• Experience with central lines including HD catheters, ports, and PICCs required
• Preferred experience includes Tikosyn and Sotalol initiation, dopamine, dobutamine, lidocaine, nitro, and milrinone drips
• Experience with chest tubes, other drains, and CIWA withdrawal protocol preferred
• Patient population includes CHF, chest pain, arrhythmias (AFib, flutter, SVT), respiratory, renal, and hemodialysis patients
• Overflow patients may include sepsis, urology, surgical, ETOH/drug withdrawals, isolation, and GI bleeds
• Equipment used includes lift equipment, bladder scanner, interpreter iPad, and BiPAP monitoring
• EMR system: EPIC
• Unit has 32 beds and is supported by monitor techs watching patients and tele monitors at each nurses station
• Scrub color: black tops and pants; tops must have the Mercy cross logo on the left chest
• Undershirts and long-sleeve shirts acceptable in black, white, yellow, green, red, and blue
