Cardiac Cath Lab RN Job in Des Moines, IA

UnityPoint – Iowa Methodist Medical Center is seeking an RN for our Cardiac Cath Lab. This is a temporary position offering 4x10 day shifts at $3,729 per week for 91 days, starting December 14, 2026.

Role Overview

You will provide direct patient care in a fast-paced cardiac catheterization environment. Your responsibilities include both scrubbing and circulating duties, monitoring patients during procedures, and collaborating with interventional cardiologists and the care team. You must be prepared to float across all Des Moines campuses to similar units and precept as needed.

Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 24 months of current Cardiac Cath Lab experience required
• Circulating and monitoring experience required
• Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Structural heart experience highly preferred
• EP experience highly preferred
• Travel experience highly preferred
• Scrubbing experience preferred

Certifications & Licensing

• Active Iowa nursing license or compact/multistate license
• BLS (AHA) certification
• ACLS (AHA) certification
• Skills checklist specific to Cardiac Cath Lab

Schedule & Additional Requirements

Day shifts are structured as 4x10 hours. You will maintain an on-call schedule of 1–2 nights per week and every third weekend (7:30 PM Friday through 7:00 AM Monday). Weekend scheduling is based on your call rotation, with assigned cases on rare occasions. A valid driver's license is required.

A professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the last 24 months is preferred.
