PCU Registered Nurse Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract in our Progressive Care Unit (PCU). You will work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, three times per week, with guaranteed 48 hours of weekly pay at $2,479.32. This position requires every other weekend and every other holiday.

About the Role:

• 36-bed Med-Surg Intermediate Care unit with heavy telemetry monitoring
• Patient ratio of 4:1
• Patient population includes stable and weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, ortho trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke patients
• Float requirements include all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units
• Contract is eligible for 36 hours of low census unbillable hours, which can be taken in hour increments as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 2+ years of nursing experience
• Stepdown, Intermediate, or PCU experience required
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience required
• Primary patients and insulin drips experience required
• At least 1 prior travel assignment required
• Wisconsin RN License
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing

Preferred Qualifications:

• ICU experience
• Trauma Level II experience
• EPIC charting experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

You must be able to work independently, manage multiple patients safely, complete tasks timely, and adapt well to change in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Scrubs in any color are acceptable.
