PCU Float RN Job in Augusta, GA

Piedmont Augusta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) float position. This 84-day travel assignment begins July 20, 2026, and offers competitive compensation of $1,918.08 weekly.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: 3x12-hour night shifts
• Float required to all Med-Surg, Med-Surg/Telemetry, and PCU units
• Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends per 13-week contract)
• No on-call requirements
• Maximum 7 days of requested time off per contract; all requests must be finalized at submission
• Holiday work expected based on holiday count during assignment

Patient Care

• Patient population: Adults to Geriatrics
• Ratios: 1:4–5 PCU; 1:5–6 Med-Surg/Telemetry
• Orientation: 24 hours

Required Certifications and Skills

• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification
• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Blood product and heparin protocol administration
• IV insulin protocols
• Cardiac and vasoactive drip management and titration
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
• PCA, peripheral, and PICC line management
• Phlebotomy, tracheostomy care, and wound care/wound vac
• Rapid response and code team participation
• Epic charting system; Pyxis and SBAR experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted
• Arterial line and central line management
• Care of ventilated patients
• Chest tube and surgical drain management
• Spinal cord injury management
• Previous charge nurse experience
• Community hospital experience
