Med Surg RN Job in Wausau, WI

Aspirus Wausau Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for a Medical-Surgical unit. This is a 12-hour shift position on a rotating schedule, working nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) and days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM).

Position Details:

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• 3x12 night shifts with variable day and night rotation
• Contract includes 36 hours of low census unbillable time, available in typical 4-hour increments; not considered on-call
• Eligible to float to all inpatient units as needed
• Work primarily with adult patients on a Medical and Pediatrics unit (travelers do not take Pediatrics patients)

Patient Care:

You will treat adult patients with respiratory illnesses, stroke, neurological conditions, gastrointestinal illness, diabetic management, renal failure, urinary tract disorders, sepsis, wound care, clotting disorders, infectious disease processes, and acute alcohol withdrawal. Typical patient ratios are 1:4–5 on days and 1:6–7 on nights.

Requirements:

• Current Wisconsin RN License
• BLS certification (AHA or ARC)
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Trauma Level II experience highly preferred
• EPIC charting experience required
• Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred

Compensation and Duration:

Weekly pay is $2,602. This assignment runs for 84 days, beginning November 2, 2026. Scrubs may be any color.
